For the past 70 years, Orlando Union Rescue Mission (O.U.R.) has been committed to serving Central Florida’s men, women, and families who are hungry, hurting, and homeless.

By meeting the immediate physical needs of meals, shelter, and clothing, the Mission invites men and women into rehabilitative services that range from education and job training, to Christian counseling and case management mentoring. Their programs are designed to lead those who are homeless to permanent independence built on an everlasting relationship with Jesus Christ.

Through their two facilities, the O.U.R. Mission Home and the O.U.R. Men’s Center, the Mission houses and serves over 300 men, women, and children who are homeless, including single fathers and single mothers. The services of the Mission are so necessary, that the Men’s Center has been running on a waitlist for nearly a year.

Children are highly valued and nurtured at Orlando Union Rescue Mission, allowing parents the opportunity to focus on wellness, healing, and skills for a bright future. They currently house 70 kids, along with their families, with ages ranging from infancy to 17-years-old. The Mission’s Family Life Center includes classrooms, computer labs and training, a Youth Learning Center, adult high school, Early Learning Center, and a gymnasium.

Education is a very important component of Orlando Union Rescue Mission. Many adults arrive at the Mission without a high school diploma, and are required to either earn a diploma through their education program, or complete an academic refresher course. The Mission offers guests the opportunity to develop necessary skills to be successful in today’s job market, such as timeliness, dependability, accountability, and job skills.
