More Than Just Work
As a young Christian professional navigating the conundrum of aligning my beliefs into a purposeful career, I’ve been blessed to find a home at Douglas Shaw & Associates.
Like many of us, I’m eager to play a role that leaves a positive mark on the world, reaching beyond just my own life and making a difference for the kingdom of God. However, my journey as of late has been particularly meaningful as I prepare to embrace a new role—motherhood.
At Douglas Shaw & Associates, we form true partnerships with nonprofit organizations committed to being a part of what is right with the world. Each partnership is an opportunity to connect with others on a personal level, contributing to causes that resonate with my heart and soul. Because of these connections, the excitement for my new role has been felt by my clients and my colleagues. Just before starting my maternity leave, one of my long-time clients asked if everyone in our group could gather for a moment to say a prayer for my growing family.
In that moment, I recognized how blessed I am that our partnerships are built on more than just business transactions; they’re founded on mutual beliefs, missions, and genuine care for one another. It’s moments like these that remind me of the extraordinary blessing it is to support our clients’ missions and to have the opportunity to forge relationships where prayer and support are freely offered.
Creating deep and meaningful relationships with the organizations we serve allows us to tailor our support and strategies to make a genuine impact—not only on their missions, but on our lives.
As I step into the new journey of motherhood, I am filled with gratitude for having a dual role where I can continue supporting organizations and their missions, knowing they care for me as well. Because what we do together is more than just work . . . and to me, that mutual care for one another is what makes our partnerships uniquely strong, long lasting, and exponentially impactful in doing good around the world.
