You can’t get any more grassroots in your fundraising style than peer-to-peer fundraising! And this method of fundraising is bringing great success. CARE Australia, one of our partner organizations, asked Douglas Shaw & Associates to help them get some momentum behind a peer-to-peer campaign they had launched. The results have been amazing! There has been a donation increase of 1305.21%, and through the social spread of the campaign, there has been a 13.81% increase in website traffic. And this is only the beginning!
If you haven’t heard the term, peer-to-peer fundraising is a fundraising model which relies on strong engagement and promotion from individuals to mobilize their friends, family, contacts, and networks to gain donations for an organization. Many have praised this style of fundraising as a great tactic for empowering supporters to engage with an organization and raise funds. And it’s being used with success by many organizations, but it can be a challenge to get the momentum started.
Peer-to-peer fundraising is a fundraising model which relies on strong engagement and promotion from individuals to mobilize their friends, family, contacts, and networks to gain donations for an organization.
CARE Australia had released a peer-to-peer fundraising tool, but it had limited functionality and hadn’t gotten any traction with their donors. We took a look at the site and engaged in conversations around fundraising best practices and optimizations that should be applied to this digital endeavor. Because of our well-established, trusted partner relationship, CARE Australia asked us to implement any changes we thought would increase their fundraising success and bring more momentum to the peer-to-peer fundraising website.
Now we see new users starting their own fundraising campaigns every day, and the donations continue to come in.
